I was taking 10mg and that has been reduced to 5 mg along with 1500mg of metformin daily. I don't think it is necessary because I continue having low blood sugar level unless I eat several times for 4...

Yes, the glipizide brought my blood sugar down, but the side effects made me not want to take it again...headache, stomach pains, nausea, throbbing/racing pulse, when I raised my arms to fix something...

I have not been able to bring my sugar down using only Metformin ER. My Dr. added Gly-Buride & I saw a huge drop in my sugar within the first 24 hours! That is in combination of the Metformin ER.

Glyburide 2.5mg works pretty well in lowering my blood sugar levels along with my metformin and Januvia.

I was put on Glipizide Extended Release 0.25mg. I found it effective in lowering my BG level to low 100's from high 100's almost instantly and without any real side effects other than having bowl move...
